Cheile Bicazului

The Bicaz Strait ranks among the most interesting and impressive gorges in the country. Rushing rapids, small and big waterfalls, steep limestone cliffs and caves intersperse the canyon, which is surrounded by peaks that are 1200-1300 meters high: Small Suhard, Big Suhard, Altar Stone and Black Beech. In this area lies the Cheile Bicazului–Hășmașu Mare National Park. The park has numerous caves, while the strait and its view lives on as Hell’s Gorge in folklore.
